I recognize the same with my own kernel package but in the most cases a new
version of kvm solves it. Sometimes all is fine with kvm and sometimes i have
to use qemu instead. Have you take a look for the state of kvm and your guest

For a long time i can't use opensuse as a guest. Now with kvm-36 plus the hint
from their page and opensuse 10.3 Beta it works but before it was a nightmare
and yes, i have had it too that my pc hung hard.

Do you have compile your kvm package with the default CFLAGS/CXXFLAGS
from /etc/makepkg.conf?

I think kvm is getting better and better but it seems sometimes not so stable.
