Hi everyone,
I just wanted to let everyone know my latest discovery for starting securely
an X application as root.
For some time, I couldn't use the old "xhost +localhost" trick... and I
started googling. The magical solution, converted from a solaris
implementation:
$ xhost +local:
non-network local connections being added to access control list
and so... local applications can connect via unix sockets to the X server.
I wonder if this could be turned on by default.
Well.. besides this.. I'm totally impressed by the Flow Graph of Wireshark :)
A happy 3.5 year ArchLinux user,
Mircea
